[April 29, 2012] Thankful for...tennis!  A bunch of us played today...my mom, dad, aunt Joan, Joel, and Jack!

[April 28, 2012] Thankful for...leftovers!  My friend Kelly and I went to Qdoba for supper - they gave me a ton of food, so I have plenty left over for lunch this week.

[April 27, 2012] Thankful for...good times!  My friends Katie, Becky, Ben, and I went to Holland for supper (84 East - yum!) and then watched the movie "Inception".  I think that was the 3rd time I'd seen it, and I still catch new things each time! :)

[April 26, 2012] Thankful for...getting my car home!!  I worked at the library today, and when we all left to go home, my car wouldn't shift out of Park!  So....I called my dad and he came to pick me up.  He figured out that some electrical pieces had shorted out (and since you can only get out of Park with your foot on the brake, it wasn't recognizing that the brake was on).  We went home, he got some tools, and back we went to the library to get the car.  He temporarily fixed it by bypassing something - I really have no idea what he did. :)  Anyways, this tiny hole is where he was able to get it out of Park.  My car's at home now, but still on the mend, so my dad and grandpa will be working on it soon - thank you!! :)

[April 25, 2012] Thankful for...Mr. Burger!  A couple of my aunts, my grandpa, my mom, and I usually try to meet for lunch on Wednesdays.  Today we went to Mr. Burger. :)

[April 24, 2012] Thankful for...pretty clouds.  Now that it is getting closer to summer, I can't always see the sunset anymore with the Earth tilting more and more, BUT...I can still see the clouds from the sunset and there can be some really pretty colors. :)

[April 23, 2012] Thankful for...super deals!  This afternoon, I got 2 cards (I can't show the fronts because they are for a couple people who read the blog!), 3 pair of earrings, and the dvd "Fast Five" all for.........$3.45!  I am soooo Dutch...I love coupons! :)

[April 22, 2012] Thankful for...movie night!  Aunt Joan, Uncle Bear, and the boys came over to watch "Bringing Down the House" - Steve Martin is soooo funny!

[April 21, 2012] Thankful for...the Tiger's game!  We left for Detroit pretty early, and got there in time for the Home Plate program.  Several players (past and current Detroit players and current Texas players) talked about their struggles and successes in their faith over the course of their lives and their baseball careers.  A couple hours after the program, the game started - Justin Verlander was supposed to pitch, but Friday's game got rained out, so Rick Porcello pitched.  Unfortunately, he allowed 8 runs in the first inning, and Detroit ended up losing 10-4...Austin Jackson and Miguel Cabrera hit home runs though, which was fun. :)

[April 20, 2012] Thankful for...the Detroit Tigers!  My mom, dad, and I are going to a game tomorrow, and also going to the Home Plate Program, where ball players who are Christians will be talking about their faith. :)

[April 19, 2012] Thankful for...a Toby Mac concert!  My friend Katie and I went to a church in Holland for the concert, and it was really good! 

[April 18, 2012] Thankful for...open houses!  My aunt Joan and I started going through photo albums for my cousin Alec's open house...I LOVE looking at old pictures! :)

[April 17, 2012] Thankful for...extra work - I went in to work at the library this afternoon.  I'll be back there next week too!

[April 16, 2012] Thankful for...walking outside!  Went for a walk around the big block today - it was really windy out, so I had on 2 sweatshirts, gloves, and a hat! :)

[April 15, 2012] Thankful for...rain.  I love having rainy days sometimes, especially on Sunday afternoons...

[April 14, 2012] Thankful for...Glee!  I don't know if many people still watch this show, but I really like the music on it... :)

[April 13, 2012] Thankful for...fundraising.  My mom and I are going to Zuni, New Mexico on a mission trip with our church this summer.  We are doing some fundraising through a flower sale, so we made up a flyer and stuffed them in all the church mailboxes this afternoon. :)

[April 12, 2012] Thankful for...watermelon!  One of my favorite summer fruits...we had a mini watermelon that I cut up for supper tonight - it was good!

[April 11, 2012] Thankful for...new Tupperware.  Weird, I know. :)  I went to a Tupperware garage sale today and stocked up on a few containers...I really like the colors of them!

[April 10, 2012] Thankful for...changing weather, again!  Today it snowed a little bit, and the snowflakes were HUGE!

[April 9, 2012] Thankful for...tulips!  These are right outside my classroom window - they're so pretty.  The tulips are blooming in Holland, with Tulip Time still about 3 1/2 weeks away yet...I don't think there will be many left when it starts on May 5. :(

[April 8, 2012] Thankful for...Easter!  In our message at church this morning our pastor talked about his recent trip to Israel, and some of the traditions that people have there when someone passes away.  He showed us a picture of a cemetery, where people will lay rocks at loved ones' tombstones and recall stories about that person, or talk about how they will follow in their footsteps.  We were invited to place a rock on our communion table as a symbol of us following in Jesus' footsteps, and take a rock home to remind us of this as well.

[April 7, 2012] Thankful for...the Detroit Tigers! :)  Today the Tigers played the Boston Red Sox and won 10-0...Cabrera and Fielder both hit 2 home runs...it was awesome. :)  Anyways, I took a picture of the Justin Verlander "Fastball Flakes" my mom got for me...they are proudly displayed in my room. :)

[April 6, 2012] Thankful for...The Hunger Games movie!  I went to see it this afternoon with my mom, aunt, and cousin...it was so good! :)

[April 5, 2012] Thankful for...my money tree.  With how sunny it's been this Spring so far, my money tree (it's called that because the leaves supposedly look like an outstretched hand waiting for money) has been growing and growing.  Scott gave it to me right before he went to Dordt in 2009, and I'm quite surprised that I've been able to keep it alive. :)

[April 4, 2012] Thankful for...a Griffins hockey game with friends!  My friends Al and Lindy got some tickets for the game Wednesday night, so a bunch of us went.  It was fun to go somewhere different and have a good time together. :)

[April 3, 2012] Thankful for...surprise finds!  After going through some of my Grandpa's books at home, I found this old Christmas card that he and my Grandma had sent out when my dad and his oldest sister were little...cute! :)

[April 2, 2012] Thankful for...golf balls???  Haha, not really, but this is a picture of my cousin Joel going through a bunch of golf balls he found today while him, myself, and my cousin Jack went through some things in my Grandpa's basement.  We mainly went through old books (some of which were textbooks from when my dad and his siblings were in school...those were kind of neat to see), but Joel went through a couple of golf bags, and they were full of golf balls!  This is acutally only about half of what he found too...we're set for a while now. :)

[April 1, 2012] Thankful for...watching a good movie.  My mom and I watched Pearl Harbor tonight - she had never seen it before and I hadn't seen it for awhile.  It gets me everytime though, knowing that those events acutally happened...

[March 31, 2012] Thankful for...spring cleaning! :)  Since I'm not going anywhere for Spring Break, I thought I might as well clean out my bathroom and bedroom...fun stuff. :)  While I went through my bathroom cupboards, I found these hand soaps.......8 of them!!  Do you know how long it takes me to go through one bottle when I'm pretty much the only one using my bathroom...quite awhile, but they smell so good!  If I ever go to Bath and Body Works with you, PLEASE do not let me buy any more of their handsoap!! :)

[March 30, 2012] Thankful for...changing seasons.  This morning it hailed...I can't believe how crazy this winter/spring has been.  God shows how he's in control of all types of weather we have. :)
