[August 25, 2012] Thankful for...mini car shows!  The Metro Cruise on 28th street was today, and the West Michigan Mustang Club always meets at Borgman Ford.  My dad, grandpa, and I went there for a little bit to look around at the cars - there were lots of nice ones! :)

[August 24, 2012] Thankful for...sunsets.  I haven't been able to get a sunset shot for a while, but tonight the sky was absolutely gorgeous...

[August 23, 2012] Thankful for...the first tennis match of the season!  My cousin Joel was playing 2nd Singles today - can't wait to watch more of his matches!

[August 22, 2012] Thankful for...supper with the family.  Some of us met at Mr. Burger tonight, and had a great time, as always. :)  I also met my cousins Danielle, April, Ashley, and their kiddos for breakfast this morning...I forgot my camera, so I couldn't take a picture, but it was really nice to meet up with them and chat for a while. :)

[August 21, 2012] Thankful for...sending home my parent letters. :)  This marks the official beginning of school!

[August 20, 2012] Thankful for...learning how to sew!  I'm making some covers for my bookcases in my classroom, so my Aunt Joan taught me how to sew tonight!

[August 19, 2012] Thankful for...upcoming football!  Today the Advance had the football previews for the local schools...I love going to the games, so hopefully I can get to a few this fall! :)

[August 18, 2012] Thankful for...more adventures with Katie! :)  We started our day out doing about a 6 mile walk in the woods, tubing, games, more tubing, supper, and then a brisk 2-hr ride home in the topless, doorless jeep... :)  It was a great day!

[August 17, 2012] Thankful for...new adventures!  Katie invited me up to her cottage this weekend, so we headed up Friday night.  On the way, we stopped at a park that had this HUGE slide...soooo, we had to go down it... :)

[August 16, 2012] Thankful for...new wines!  My friend Kelly and I went out to dinner and to Hudsonville Winery for some wine tasting.  Kelly got Melo Carmelo and I bought more Hudsonberry - so good!

[August 15, 2012] Thankful for...a good book.  Working at the library, Janet Evanovich's books always fly off the shelf, so I decided to try one.  This book is called "One for the Money" and it's pretty good so far, and definitely helped pass the time during the 12 hour ride home. :)

[August 14, 2012] Thankful for...helping Scott and Aubrey move in.  We picked up all their stuff from one of their soccer coaches homes who had stored some things for them over the summer, and tried to organize the furniture and everything else they had.  At night, there was a dinner for all Fall athletes and their families, and then a small get-together just for the soccer players and their families.  My mom and I then said our goodbyes because they had early morning conditioning...can't believe this is their last year already!

[August 13, 2012] Thankful for...safe driving.  Today, Scott and Aubrey left to go back to Dordt, and my mom and I went with to help move them in.  We followed behind them in the truck, and had some rain while we drove, but overall, it was really good traveling.  I don't think that any one has ever had any real trouble traveling to and from Dordt, even with as many times as us, Scott, and Aubrey have been back in forth, with is really amazing and a blessing!

[August 12, 2012] Thankful for...a new drink.  My Aunt Joan got this berry flavored tequila from Mexico during Spring Break...it was really interesting! :)

[August 11, 2012] Thankful for...awesome waves at the beach.  For Scott's last weekend home, we went out for supper and headed to Grand Haven beach.  The waves were kind of rough and hitting the end of the pier while we were out there.

[August 10, 2012] Thankful for...rain.  It's rained pretty much the whole day - it's a wonderful thing!  We need it so much, and everything is looking greener!

[August 9, 2012] Thankful for...my bed.  After sleeping for 6 nights on an air mattress, it's been nice to be in my own house and my own room.  After being in Zuni, I'm more appreciative of not only all the material things I have, but also the relationships that were formed over the course of the week... :)

[August 8, 2012] Thankful for...coming home.  We left Albuquerque at 6am this morning, and got to Hudsonville around 4pm. :)  This part of our trip was a little bumpy because we were going through some rain, hence all the clouds! :)

[August 7, 2012] Thankful for...visiting one more new area in Zuni.  We left Zuni about 5pm to head to Albuquerque, but before we went, visited the Old Zuni Mission.  We learned more about the Zuni religion and the parts of it that are still alive and being practiced today.

[August 6, 2012] Thankful for...God's power being shown to us.  Tonight we hiked up what the Zunis call their "Holy Mountain".  The view once we got to the top was absolutely amazing...to see the sky with the sunset and rain (and lightning!) was breathtaking, and totally worth the hike! :)

[August 5, 2012] Thankful for...being in Zuni with my mom!  We visited El Morro National Monument this afternoon, and were able to see some really neat rock/stone formations.  We've been having a great time together, and are looking forward to a great rest of the week!

[August 4, 2012] Thankful for...almost finishing the jewelry workshop.  A bunch of us primed and painted the jewelry shop for a member of Zuni CRC.  Some of the guys worked on the inside putting up the white panels that were painted yesterday.

[August 3, 2012] Thankful for...working next to some of the kids!  The Zuni Mission Trip is geared towards all types of individuals - singles, couples, and families.  It was awesome seeing some of these boys working hard painting these panels that will be used in a jewelry workshop. :)

[August 2, 2012] Thankful for...Zuni bread.  We had the chance to watch a family make Zuni bread in an outdoor oven.  Many of the homes in the Zuni pueblo have these outdoor stone ovens, and the bread that they make is delicious!

[August 1, 2012] Thankful for...our Zuni Mission Trip!  We met at church at 5am, and arrived in Zuni later at night, and will be home in a week! :)
