[May 30, 2012] Thankful for...new wine! My mom, Scott, Aunt Joan, Aunt Beth, and Uncle Randy went to Hudsonville Winery tonight. I hadn't been there for a while, so I was able to try a couple of new ones (Hudsonberry is really good!). We bought more than normal because we had a coupon for 10% off, so we stocked up on a few different flavors and bought some to use for gifts. I ended up buying Acai and Blueberry, and Scott and my mom got a few different ones too. :)
[May 29, 2012] Thankful for...lightning! There was a small storm that started around one in the morning and there was a lot of lightning...I couldn't get any lightning bolts, but there was a couple really big ones right by each other, and they totally lit up the sky! This was my brightest shot (no editing!), taken at 1:25am!
[May 28, 2012] Thankful for...Memorial Day! I went to Jenison's Memorial Day parade with Jack and my Aunt Joan today - it was really nice to see everyone out there and honor the veterans. :)
[May 27, 2012] Thankful for...dancing! Alec, Joel, and Jack came over today to do some of the Wii Just Dance game...we had some good times - we did it for a total of almost 2 hours! Lots of laughing happened between us, right guys?? "Rah Rah Rasputin..." ;)
[May 26, 2012] Thankful for...spending the day with my mom! My dad and Scott were at a golf tournament all day, so my mom and I ran a bunch of different errands and got supper together. :)
[May 25, 2012] Thankful for...trip planning! Our family is going to Washington D.C. in a few weeks and a couple from our church came over tonight to talk to us about things that they liked when they went. I've always wanted to go to D.C., and am so excited to go! :)
[May 24, 2012] Thankful for...Becca being home! She came home for the weekend from D.C., so Katie, Becky, Becca, and I all hung out together!
[May 23, 2012] Thankful for...graduation! Alec's grauation was tonight, and it was a really nice ceremony - congrats bud! :)
p.s. Phillip Phillips won American Idol!! He was the first one I thought was really good in January when he first auditioned, and put it on the blog in too! :)
[May 22, 2012] Thankful for...American Idol! Jessica and Phillip are the last ones left and they performed three different songs. Jessica did pretty well, but Phillip closed out the show with what the judges call the best one of the night. My mom and I tried to vote for Phillip several different times, and only got through 3 times...oh well...
[May 21, 2012] Thankful for...flowers! These are under our deck in the backyard - I love the purple color. :)
[May 20, 2012] Thankful for...music! I watched some of the Billboard Music Awards tonight. I LOVE listening to music and it was fun to see lots of different performances.
[May 19, 2012] Thankful for...my cousin Alec! Today was his Open House - it was a fun night!
[May 18, 2012] Thankful for...a new puzzle. I was shopping at Younker's today with a $10 off coupon, and found this puzzle. One of the other teachers at school has this puzzle, and when I saw it, I knew I had to grab it. When a kiddo is doing the puzzle, it will say the shape when they get it in the right spot - puzzles weren't like that when I used to do them! :)
[May 17, 2012] Thankful for...open house decorations. I was working on these centerpieces for my cousin Alec's open house this coming Saturday. They are part way done...the day of, they will get stuffed with tissue paper and balloons.
p.s. Scott suggested I sneak a Michigan State one in there, but I resisted... :)
[May 16, 2012] Thankful for...my parents! Today was their anniversary! :)
[May 15, 2012] Thankful for...angel food cake! With a little Cool Whip and Heath Bits, it was a perfect snack for tonight. :)
[May 14, 2012] Thankful for...my paper cutter. I'm still working on my cousin's picture boards for Saturday, and had to cut a bunch of paper up - the paper cutter made it a lot easier! And because I'm a little bit anal about having everything straight, I was a little bit more at peace using the cutter than if I had used a scissors and just tried to cut straight myself... :)
[May 13, 2012] Thankful for...my mom! We went out to Holland State Park for Mother's Day today with our family and my Uncle Bear and Aunt Joan's family - it was such a nice afternoon...a picnic lunch and walking the pier. Some of the guys took the boat out fishing on the lake, while the rest of us went to Captain Sundae. :) It was a great day celebrating our moms - we love you!! :)
[May 12, 2012] Thankful for...the Tulip Time Parade (even though it was super, super soggy and wet and rainy and damp and, I could go on....). It was Joel and Alec's last parade EVER, so I definitely had to go...it was cold sitting out there, and they were in one of the last sections of the parade so we were out there from 12:30 - 3:50, when they finally came by (the parade started at 2:00). We were in the car by 3:55 heading home. :)
[May 11, 2012] Thankful for...super glue! I made a necklace today and used some super glue to finish it up, and then proceeded to get some on my fingers... :/ It always wears off eventually... :)
[May 10, 2012] Thankful for...Red Robin. Our whole family went there for supper tonight because we had some freebies that were going to expire...it was good!
[May 9, 2012] Thankful for...the Zuni flower sale! My mom and I had all the flowers at our church who ordered flowers to support our mission trip. It was a beautiful evening, and almost everyone picked up their flowers. We made almost $550 for our trip, which was amazing!
[May 8, 2012] Thankful for...one more fog delay. :) I think the trees are so pretty early in the morning with the fog surrounding them...
[May 7, 2012] Thankful for...shakes! Over the past couple of days I've pretty much had just Powerade and applesause, but today got a shake from McDonalds - it made my throat feel really good!
[May 6, 2012] Thankful for...meds! I went to the med center this morning, and they said I have strep throat...ugh... So I picked up my prescription later today - hopefully they start working soon!
[May 5, 2012] Thankful for...my blanket. I haven't been feeling well at all this weekend, and my blanket has helped keep me warm. :)
[May 4, 2012] Thankful for...Scott being home! Him and Aubrey got home this morning after a rough ride home (they had to stop a couple of times because of weather and it took them about 16 hours instead of 12...). So glad to have him home again! :)
